This presentation will address current verbiage in the guidelines and standards, goals of the verification process and methods to meet those goals.  In other words, we will discuss WHAT the guidance is, WhY facility owners should determine their facility's condition and HOW to conclusively and effectively verify performance annually.

Co-Founder, Dan Frasier presents conducts a course at the Eagleson Institute in Sanford, ME.  The two-day course entitled Verifying BSL3 Performance:  From Commissioning to Certification, focuses on the important considerations of commissioning and verifying the performance of ABSL3 and BSL3 laboratories.  The Eagleson Institute is a nonprofit foundation with a mission to promote the principles and practices of laboratory safety.

Dan Frasier presents at the 2011 TurnKey Conference

Cornerstone's Dan Frasier presents at the TurnKey Conference, presented by ALN Magazine and ALN World, in Baltimore, MD.  In a session entitled Leaky BSL-3 Rooms and Other Good Ideas, Dan discusses how to achieve stable directional airflow during normal operation and failures to maintain containment. We will also address show to adjust the operation of your existing facilities to optimize the ability to meet the intent of the BMBL's "no airflow reversal" requirement.

Hach Hall Dedication

Dedication ceremonies were held Friday, Oct. 8, for Hach Hall, Iowa State University's newest chemistry facility. Instead of the traditional ribbon cutting, a little chemical wizardry provided a fitting launch to the three-story building which includes lab space and technology to perform research and improve undergraduate learning. The facility was funded with a state appropriation and private gifts and is named after Kathryn Hach Darrow, her late husband
